FSTA Submission Guidelines: Figures

Figures are the primary focus of a research publication, and due care should be taken to prepare the figures. FSTA follows a strict quality control of the figures it publishes. Authors are advised to pay particular attention to the following aspects:

1. Font Size: Please note that figures will be generally reduced in size for creating the final version. Please prepare your figures with font sizes large enough to be readable after reduction.
2. Axis Legends: The axis legends should be clear in CGS or appropriate units; figures without axis legends shall not be accepted and will be ground for editorial rejection.
3. Colours: Colour figures are welcome. Please choose colours that do not create ambiguity in interpretation of the results.
4. Legends:Each figure must be accompanied by a legend (with word count as per category) that is self-explanatory and self-contained.
5. Size: Figures with very large size may be sent back for reduction in size
6. Number: A figure should substantially value-add to the manuscript. The number of figures in a manuscript is restricted as per Category of Submission. Each panel is considered equivalent to a figure.
